President’s Message

Greetings and welcome to the official website of Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. We are located in St. Louis, MO, the home of our Founder Ethel Hedgeman Lyle.  Gamma Omega was chartered on December 2, 1920.  We are the third oldest graduate chapter in the sisterhood; the first and oldest graduate chapter in the Central Region of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.  Our membership is comprised of over 300 college trained business and professional women who work together in the spirit of sisterhood and service to make the St. Louis community a better place.

For over 95 years, Gamma Omega Chapter has been committed to providing service to all mankind.  Our programs and activities, distinctive to Gamma Omega, have had a significant and positive impact on the St. Louis community.  However, our goal is to further influence the forward and upward movement of our community.  Gamma Omega will continue, “Elevating Our Brand of Service and Sisterhood”. Through our international program, Launching New Dimensions of Service, we have and will continue to initiate activities with focus in the areas of Educational Enrichment, Health Promotion, Family Strengthening, Environmental Ownership and Global Impact.  Our growing partnerships with various organizations and agencies continue to allow Gamma Omega to provide a unique brand of service that has made a true difference in the lives of individuals.

If you are a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and new to the St. Louis metropolitan area or have been an inactive member in the area looking for a chapter home, we welcome you to visit Gamma Omega Chapter.  Our monthly meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month at 10:30 a.m. at the Innovative Concept Academy, 1927 Cass Ave. 63106.
